Certified Backflow Inc
Privacy Policy
We are a backflow testing company. We collect the small amount of information it takes to test your assembly, file the report with your utility, and bill you for it. Nothing more, and we do not sell any of it.
Effective
Who we are
This policy applies to Certified Backflow Inc and to the website at certbackflow.com. You can reach us at (321) 436-8306, at office@certbackflow.com, or by mail at PO Box 121458, Clermont, FL 34712.
Information we collect
We collect information you give us directly. There is no account to create on this site and no login.
When you contact us
If you fill out the request form or call us, we collect your name, phone number, email address, service address, and whatever you tell us about the work you need. If you check the text messaging box, we also record that you agreed, when you agreed, and the exact wording you were shown.
When we do the work
Testing a backflow assembly produces a record: the assembly type, its serial number, where it sits on your property, the gauge readings, and whether it passed. We keep that record, and we file the report with your water utility. Filing it is the point of the test — a test that is not reported does not satisfy your utility’s requirement.
When you visit this site
This site uses Vercel Analytics, which counts page views without cookies and without building a profile of you. We do not use Google Analytics, we do not use advertising or social media pixels, and we do not use session recording or heat mapping. Our hosting provider keeps standard server logs, including IP addresses, for security and troubleshooting.
Mobile information and text messaging
Mobile information collected for text messaging, including phone numbers and consent, is not shared with or sold to third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Text messaging originator opt-in data and consent are not shared with any third parties.
We text you only about your own work with us: scheduling, reminders that a test is coming due, results, retest notices, and invoices. You can stop the messages at any time by replying STOP, or get help by replying HELP. Full terms are on our Text Message Terms page.
Consent to receive text messages is never a condition of buying anything from us. If you would rather we called, say so and we will call.
How we use your information
- To schedule, perform and invoice the work you asked for.
- To file your test report with the water utility that requires it.
- To remind you when your next annual test is due, by text, email, phone or mail depending on what you have agreed to.
- To answer your questions and keep a record of what we agreed.
- To meet our legal, licensing and recordkeeping obligations as a certified tester.
We do not use your information to advertise to you anywhere else, and we do not run behavioural advertising.
Who we share it with
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only:
- With your water utility or the county, because your test report is a document they require and we are the ones who file it.
- With service providers who help us operate — our website host, our customer and scheduling portal, our payment processor, and our email and text messaging provider. They may use your information only to provide that service to us.
- Where the law requires it, or to establish or defend a legal claim.
Mobile phone numbers and text messaging consent are treated separately and more narrowly, as stated above: they are not shared for any marketing or promotional purpose, and opt-in data is not shared with third parties at all.
How long we keep it
We keep test records and the invoices attached to them for as long as our licensing and tax obligations require, and generally longer, because the history of an assembly is useful the next time somebody works on it. Text messaging consent records are kept for as long as you are opted in, and for a period afterwards, so that we can show what you agreed to and when. Request form submissions that do not turn into work are deleted once they are no longer needed.
Your choices
- Text messages: reply STOP to any message, or tell us and we will remove you.
- Email: ask us and we will stop sending, other than messages about work already in progress.
- Access, correction and deletion: ask us what we hold about you, ask us to fix it if it is wrong, or ask us to delete it. We will do that unless we are required to keep it, and we will tell you if that is the case.
To make any of these requests, call (321) 436-8306 or email office@certbackflow.com.
Security
This site is served over HTTPS, and the request form posts directly to our own systems. We limit access to customer records to the people who need them to do the work. No system is perfect and we will not pretend otherwise, but we do not store card numbers and we do not keep anything we do not need.
Children
This is a plumbing service. The site is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 13. If you believe a child has given us information, contact us and we will delete it.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy we will update the effective date at the top of the page. If a change is significant and affects how we handle your information, we will make that clear rather than quietly editing the text.
